Five areas of support

Defined engineering.
Useful deliverables.

Understand what BOS can investigate, maintain or repair—and the findings, work record or recommendations you will receive within the agreed scope.

01 / UNDERSTAND CONDITION

Oven Health Checks & Condition Reviews

Understand condition and decide what needs attention. A scoped review of accessible oven areas brings together photographs, condition observations and prioritised recommendations, with technical assessment and senior review where included.

02 / PLAN RECURRING WORK

Planned Maintenance & Cleaning Programmes

Plan recurring work around your assets and production schedules.

What can be included?
Agreed asset coverage, visit frequency, technical cleaning areas, maintenance priorities and reporting. Work is prepared around access, isolation and the available production window.

03 / INVESTIGATE A FAULT

Breakdown Investigation & Repair Support

Diagnose faults, agree remedial work and identify follow-up repairs.

What can be included?
Review reported symptoms, relevant history and accessible equipment. Agree the investigation and remedial scope, then record findings, work completed and further repair requirements. Attendance is by arrangement.
04 / DELIVER DEFINED WORKS

Shutdowns, Repairs & Refurbishment

Coordinate defined engineering works within the agreed production window.

What can be included?
Repairs, refurbishment, wire-band changeovers, fabrication and access improvements as agreed for the oven. Preparation covers scope, resources, parts, site arrangements and the required completion record.
05 / UNDERSTAND A PARTICULAR PROBLEM

Specialist Diagnostics & Performance Investigations

Investigate particular problems using appropriate technical expertise and equipment.

What can be included?
Focused investigation of heat distribution, airflow or reported oven performance concerns. The method, instrumentation, technical review, specialist support and reporting are agreed for the specific problem.
Equipment coverage

Engineering support for your equipment.

Equipment coverage is agreed for each asset and production window. The scope sets out the inspection or work and the findings, work record or recommendations you will receive.

Ovens

Understand condition. Plan the next work.

Practical engineering support for travelling, tunnel and rack ovens, including Baker Perkins, Spooner and Simplex equipment. BOS agrees the inspection, maintenance or repair scope around your oven and production window.

  • Accessible component inspection and condition reporting.
  • Technical cleaning, wire-band replacement, repairs and refurbishment.
  • Heat-loss and insulation reviews, with re-insulation works scoped where appropriate.

Dryers

Keep maintenance and cleaning planned.

Agree support around your dryer, its accessible components and associated flues. Share the equipment details, operating concerns and maintenance history so BOS can define suitable inspection, technical cleaning or repair work.

  • Agreed equipment coverage and accessible inspection areas.
  • Cleaning requirements, access and isolation arrangements.
  • Recorded findings and priorities for maintenance or further investigation.

Provers

Define the work your equipment needs.

Discuss your prover’s condition, recurring faults or maintenance requirements. BOS will confirm the mechanical inspection, maintenance or repair coverage appropriate to your equipment before agreeing a visit.

  • Equipment details and reported symptoms reviewed before attendance.
  • Accessible mechanical condition and repair priorities within the agreed scope.
  • A work record and recommendations for any further specialist investigation.
Discuss your prover

Flue systems

Clean, inspect and plan follow-up work.

Technical cleaning and condition observations for agreed accessible flue sections and associated oven areas. The scope identifies what can be reached, the required access and isolation arrangements, and anything needing separate investigation or repair.

  • Defined flue and related cleaning areas.
  • Photographs and observations from the agreed work.
  • Follow-up maintenance or repair requirements recorded clearly.

Inspection and work coverage are agreed for each asset. The record identifies inaccessible areas and any further investigation or repair to be separately scoped.

Oven Health Checks & Condition Reviews

Oven health checks.
A clearer maintenance plan.

Understand the condition of your oven before deciding on the next work. A BOS Oven MOT brings together observations, photographs and prioritised recommendations for your maintenance team.

  1. Scope

Agree the oven, access and areas to be reviewed.

  2. Inspect

Review accessible condition and record observations.

  3. Report

    Provide photographs, findings and priorities.

  4. Plan

Agree repairs, cleaning and maintenance scope.

  5. Follow up

Review completed work and future requirements.

Coverage is agreed for each oven and its accessible areas. A condition review is not statutory certification. Further testing, specialist investigation and repairs are explicitly scoped.

Mechanical condition & repair priorities

Inspect accessible oven components and review maintenance history to investigate wear and recurring faults, then define repair, refurbishment or replacement priorities.

Oven behaviour, heat loss & insulation

Investigate oven behaviour using observations, temperature data and thermal records where appropriate. Assess insulation condition and scope repairs or re-insulation to reduce avoidable heat loss, improve efficiency and help lower gas and utility costs.

Airflow and circulation concerns

Review reported symptoms and accessible fan, filter and flue areas to help define further investigation.

Planned maintenance

Planned support.
Built around your bakery.

BOS provides planned inspection, technical cleaning and maintenance for industrial bakery ovens. A programme is agreed around your equipment, maintenance priorities and production schedule, helping you identify developing issues and plan the work required.

01

Tailored to your site

Define the equipment covered, visit frequency, work scope and budget—from an individual oven to an agreed group of assets.

02

Preventative maintenance

Coordinate condition reviews, cleaning and maintenance with access, isolation and shutdown arrangements, so work can be planned ahead.

03

Oven expertise and clear reporting

Use practical oven experience, photographs and prioritised recommendations to understand equipment condition and guide follow-up repairs.

Our work

Practical engineering.
A clear record.

Anonymised examples drawn from issued BOS engineering reports.

Repair & fabrication

Burner faceplate replacement

BOS fabricated and fitted a replacement faceplate and protective quarl assembly, repaired the rear cover and refurbished the support box.

The issued report records the work with photographs. Burner testing and operational handback remained with the appointed combustion contractor.

Investigation & cleaning

Oven performance investigation

Accessible flue sections were inspected, a damper handle-to-blade mismatch corrected and burner air filters cleaned.

Findings and follow-up recommendations were recorded. Production performance remained subject to representative testing.
